Dickson is a Doctoral candidate in the International Education Development program at the Peking University Graduate School of Education. He was a fifth cohort scholar at the Yenching Academy of Peking University’s master’s program in China Studies, majoring in Politics and International Relations. Originally from Nigeria, Dickson’s professional journey includes internships at esteemed organizations such as the American advisory and advocacy communications consultancy, APCO Worldwide. He also gained valuable experience at the South-South Cooperation and Partnerships unit of UNICEF China Office in Beijing. Additionally, he served as a Management Trainee at Champion Breweries PLC, a firm affiliated with Heineken International. Passionate about writing and research, Dickson has contributed to academia. His roles as a teaching assistant for various professors at Yenching Academy, including Prof. He Yafei (China’s former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs) and teaching in elementary and secondary schools during his national service in Nigeria, demonstrate his commitment to education. Dickson’s academic achievements extend to presenting papers at conferences and co-authoring articles on topics ranging from Africa-China cooperation to human security, development, corruption, and foreign policy. Currently based in Beijing, he studies Mandarin and explores the political economy of China’s economic transformation.
