Ivy Wei Ye

Research Fellow

Dr. Wei Ye is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for International Affairs, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (China). She was Visiting Scholar at the College of Development Studies, Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) in 2019 and 2020. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong (China). She holds an M.Sc. in International Affairs from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and an L.L.B in International Politics from Sun Yat-sen University (China).

Dr. Wei Ye’s research focuses on China-Africa relations, international development, critical IR theories, and Southern knowledge production. Her work has been published as journal articles, book chapters, and policy papers. Her recent book China’s Education Aid to Africa: Fragmented Soft Power is forthcoming by Routledge.
